Younger Onset Dementia

Younger Onset Dementia is used to describe any form of dementia where a person is diagnosed prior to the age of 65 years.

Currently, there is estimated to be 28,300 people with younger onset dementia in Australia and this figure if expected to rise to 29,350 people by 2028 and 41,250 people by 2058.

Yesterday, our Managing Director, Hayley Antipas, had the pleasure of attending an art exhibition showcasing the works of a man living with Younger Onset Dementia.

YODyssey: The art of living well with Younger Onset Dementia.

Rob's works beautifully portray the struggles that both he and his carer go through. It was moving to hear families talk openly about their journey with this disease and at the same time uplifting to hear how they are living well with the support of their "YOD squad".

At Attuned Health we support many families living with younger onset dementia. You can read more about the benefits of music therapy here and contact us today to book your initial consultation.
